Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of a reputable family run business based in Stockport. Our client designs and manufactures Camera Systems for Aerospace use and benefits from an enviable position as tier one supplier to Boeing, Bombardier, Airbus Helicopters and more.

Our client is looking for a strong management accountant to lead the day to day activities of our finance team. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage but not essential.

This is a key role in the business and will be responsible for providing management accounts, reporting and insightful financial analysis. You will report to the Finance Director/Managing Director who both play active roles in the day-to-day business operations.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for management accounts preparation, including balance sheet reconciliations & ledger house-keeping
• Timely completion of month-end and year-end accounts
• Cash flow recording and preparing cash forecasts when required
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Oversee group credit control activities
• Review and authorisation of payment runs
• Review and oversee VAT returns
• Detailed margin analysis
• Prepare key financial information to drive insight supporting the management team in advance of monthly meetings

Requirements:

• Part Qualified qualified accountant
• Manufacturing background preferred
• Self-motivated with an inquisitive attitude and a keen key for detail
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel (Vlookups, Pivots etc)
• Experience with Sage accounting systems is an advantage but not essential
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team

Benefits:

• £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience
• Flexible working hours
• 25 days annual leave
