Job description
As the Goods-In Operative you will be responsible for the efficient coordination of goods arriving. Ensuring deliveries are stored & booked in throughout the day.
You will accurately book goods in using a Sigma system.
You will be required to load/unload steel plates & parts using FLT, Combilift and overhead cranes. (Training Given).
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and book in steel plate / palletised parts and general deliveries to ensure a smooth operational flow of work throughout the day.
• Communicate with colleagues to prioritise tasks, ensuring that customer requirements are met as efficiently as possible within planned resource.
• Check delivered goods against paperwork to ensure correct items have been delivered, in the correct quantity and without damage.
• Accurately booking in items using Sigma system and manual processes ensuring
KPI’s are met.
• Coordinate the collection or delivery of small items within the factory, locating stock accurately and ensuring correct paperwork is attached.
• Maintain manual and digital records of transactions as appropriate to ensure correct invoicing to suppliers.
• Undertake stocktaking activities as directed and keep stock control systems up to date.
• Maintain a Safe, clean and tidy workplace.
• Ensure compliance of health and safety at all times.
Key Requirements:
• FLT licence and experience unloading steel plate and parts. Combi lift & Overhead crane licence & experience preferred.
• A good command of the English language, both written and oral.
• Excellent Communication.
• Proven experience of Goods-In services in a production environment (ideally within the steel plate distribution sector).
• Good general IT skills including knowledge of warehouse systems, scanning & filing.
Pay Rate/ Hours of Work:
£12 per hour.
08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday
