About the Role

Cuffley and Goffs Oak Medical Practice are seeking an experienced reception supervisor to undertake the supervision and efficiency of the reception team, ensuring all functions are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols. The role is offered on a full time basis for 37.5 hours a week over 5 days. 

The main responsibilities include:

• Holding responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of reception and associated functions across two sites.
• Supervising the reception team and reception function.
• Dealing with day-to-day queries from reception, unexpected staff shortages and resolving day to day queries while also providing support to reception staff.
• Promoting a harmonious and professional atmosphere and acting as a role model to the reception team - supporting, motivating and promoting staff relations.
• Training of new reception team members in line with practice policies and procedures, ensuring ongoing reviews are conducted.
• Planning and implementing the staff rota, arranging staff holiday and sickness cover.
• General reception duties, including making appointments, dealing with patient queries and managing complaints.

About the Candidate

You will have the following skills/experience:

• Previous supervision/management experience is essential.
• Experience of working within a GP reception environment is desirable.
• Conflict/negotiation experience.
• Excellent communication skills written and oral.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Time management skills and able to work to a deadline.
• Knowledge of confidentiality.
• Good IT skills.

Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

About Us

We are a large practice based over two sites (just one mile apart) which are Valley View Health Centre and Cuffley Village Surgery.

We have a happy, established team that consists of GPs, nurses, HCAs and paramedics who are all supported by an experienced and organised admin team. We are also joined regularly and supported by colleagues from our primary care network.
