Job description
St Andrew’s is a mixed, highly inclusive comprehensive school that has love at its core. You will see it in the relationships between staff and students; both in the classrooms and the corridors; and in the excellent pastoral care that every student is given. We are seeking to appoint a practitioner, who will not only be responsible for the development and implementation of the Geography curriculum, but who wants to be part of our vision and community.
Geography outcomes are very strong, and continue to grow each year. With the current Head of Department moving into wider school responsibilities, we are excited to welcome new ideas and a new vision. We are aiming to appoint a leader who will take the department, and its curriculum, on the next stage of its journey.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent links with our transition partners, working with our other Heads of Department to develop cross curricular links. The successful candidate will have a positive and solution focused approach, applying a ‘can do’ attitude to any potential challenges and a desire to change the lives of young people for the better.
