HR People Manager
Reading, Berkshire,
£55,000 to £60,000 plus good benefits
Are you looking for the next step up in your HR career? Maybe you have completed a graduate or industrial placement and have a few years generalist HR experience and now looking to lead your own employee population? Working for a professional services firm this role will oversee 2 – 3 locations in the Berkshire area (mainly based in Reading with a very Hybrid flexible nature and ad hoc travel to one or two offices when needed) with under 100 employees in your employee group but organically growing meaning progression opportunity for the future
You will be the key person for everything HR, you will have peers around the country you can bounce ideas off of and will work closely with the CPO who will inspire and coach you, and as the business grows will open up opportunities to self develop and be promoted.
Duties
- Be the first point of contact for everything HR related within your employee group.
- Business Partner with Manager level employees generally as well as coach, guide and support at all levels
- Work closely with the Chief People Officer to deliver the strategy across your business areas, projects such as employer branding, HRIS roll outs, performance management and talent development programmes.
- With a growth mindset, you will be responsible for all learning and development, talent management and mapping, policy and process as well as creation and continuous improvement.
- You will enjoy recruitment and onboarding new employees, from junior through to senior hires and supporting with M&A activity
- Being a true business partner, you will coach, mentor and guide your population though all aspects of HR, being collaborative, drive culture, EDI, values and strategy.
- You’ll also be responsible for ER queries and escalated cases, with support from the wider senior HR team should it be needed.
Skills and Experience
- You’ll have a strong generalist knowledge of HR as either an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or Senior HR Advisor looking for a step up.
- Maybe you will be in your 2 nd or 3 rd job currently and looking for a stretch role and step up, or you have gained experience and will make a lateral move.
- You will be an ambitious, collaborative and values driven HR leader, you will enjoy building relationships with stakeholders and naturally be able to problem solve and think on your feet
- As an organised and driven individual, you will enjoy leading on projects and have some experience of this previously
- A good knowledge of employment law, policy and processes, and be keen to learn.
- You will be happy to be in the Reading office 1 – 2 times a week with occasional travel to other offices when needed.
