Job description
Personal assistant required for an eleven year old autistic boy who lives in Truro.
He would like someone with whom he can build a relationship and who can provide him with some 1:1 support in the family home and in the local community. He finds meeting new people overwhelming, and so there will be a process of getting to know him and building trust. He thrives on routine and his favourite activities are visiting parks and drawing with crayons and felt tips. Rate of pay is £11.00 per hour plus expenses. Four hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required. Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential. The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family.
