Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary The postholder will be primarily engaged in maintenance and repair of Councils grass sports facilities and open spaces, and as a team member undertake maintenance duties on all of the Parks and open spaces as directed. These duties will be undertaken in all weather conditions..

Responsibilities

• Drive and be responsible for allocated vehicles and attachments.
• Undertake maintenance of grass sports areas and related buildings, e.g. constructional labouring work, cleaning, erection and dismantling of play / sports equipment and other equipment.
• Patrol and attendance activities, collection and issuing of fees and tickets and maintenance of orderly conduct by the public to ensure Council bylaws are complied with.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years relevant horticulture experience to include the use of commercial grounds maintenance machinery.
• Experience in grounds maintenance to include grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and litter, etc.
• Experience in general site work to include civil and landscape works.

Desirable Skills

• Hold a NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or Equivalent.
• Hold a Certificate in Chemical Spraying and Handling (Pa1 and Pa6a) OR Chainsaw Licence (CS30 & CS31).
