Job Description:
We require a Technical Consultant to provide both reactive and proactive support, both via remote/telephone support and onsite visits to a variety of customers. These customers will primarily be contracted customers who will develop a relationship with the Technical Consultant.
The TC will become a trusted advisor to the organisation who will deliver routinely scheduled visits, resolve any issues which are discussed onsite, discuss IT strategy and make recommendations. The TC will also deliver complex projects with the backing of the rest of the consultancy team.
You must be a self-motivated individual with superb communication skills and be very well presented as you will be an ambassador for Bluespires IT.
You must be able to work as part of a team and provide professional technical support to our customers at all times.
Ideally you will have achieved an up to date MCP qualification. You will have extremely good knowledge of TCP/IP, Wide Area Networking and Local Area Network setup (including configuration and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs and VLANs). You will have experience of administering Microsoft desktop and server products, and ideally migrations into Microsoft 365.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities Summary
· Be the lead on the workload for your allocated customers
· Manage your own diary to ensure all work is delivered based on the customers’ requirements
· Work with the Consultancy Manager to ensure that all work is delivered and assistance is provided where required
· Assist the rest of the Bluespires team with reactive visits, and help the helpdesk team where possible.
· Take ownership of technical issues until completion
· Keeping the customers up to date with the progress of their requests.
· Learn the full product suite which Bluespires provides and our contracted support offering, and keep this at the forefront of your mind when speaking to non-contracted customers. Discuss any contract/project leads with the Consultancy Manager or the Sales Director
· You need to be a calm and assured person who works well under pressure and to tight deadlines, is very well presented and has very good client facing skills
· To perform such other duties that may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by the consultancy or helpdesk team.
· Deliver technical projects for clients, such as infrastructure installations, migrations and cyber security reviews
Key Skills/Requirements:
· Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft 365, along with migrations.
· Relevant, up to date IT related qualifications
· Demonstratable experience of successfully developing and maintaining relationships
· Experience of configuring and troubleshooting network devices
· Experience in communicating with clients / customers
· Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under pressure
· Excellent interpersonal & communication (both oral and written) skills
· Knowledge of MS Windows Server, MS365 Administration, backup software, firewall configuration, anti-virus and remote connection software
· Knowledge of firewall, AV or backup products / technologies
· Proactive motivated approach to customer service
· Keen attention to detail
· Logical, structured approach to solving problems
· Ability to adapt and learn new skills
· Time management and the ability to control a number of concurrently running tasks.
Desirable Skills/Requirements (but not essential):
· Experience with technologies such as WatchGuard, Sophos, and Datto
· Microsoft or other practical certifications (MCP, Fundamentals, Technical Associate, Comp TIA, etc.)
· Familiarity with Azure hosting and configuration, Entra, Intune device enrolment, and Windows Modern Desktop deployment
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9:00 am - 5:30 pm)

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year
