Job description
A podiatrist is a medical specialist who focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders related to the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Podiatrists are trained to provide comprehensive care for conditions ranging from routine foot care to complex surgical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' foot and ankle conditions through physical examinations, medical history review, and diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Develop individualised treatment plans based on the diagnosis, which may include medication, physical therapy, orthotics, or surgical interventions.
- Perform minor surgical procedures such as toenail removals, wart treatments, and soft tissue procedures in-office.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients on preventive measures to maintain foot health, including proper footwear selection, foot hygiene, and injury prevention strategies.
- Prescribe and oversee rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from foot and ankle injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions.
- Patient Management and Documentation:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient consultations, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ensure they understand their condition, treatment options, and follow-up care instructions.
Your Experience
- A minimum 1-year previous experience of working in a similar role in UK
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the UK to be considered
- The completion of a full enhanced DBS check (Disclosure Baring service)
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Have a valid HCPC Pin
- Undergraduate Degree
Working hours and benefits
Our current Podiatrist roles in Manchester are paying from £28 to £40/hour. Our working hours are flexible, with shifts available both during day and night, from Monday to Sunday. Premium shifts are available for nights, weekends and bank holidays.
