Job description
A Midlands-based battery cell research and manufacturing centre is looking to recruit a Data Engineer. The successful candidate will support the capture and analysis of data generated from the production and test of the organisation’s baseline and customer products.
The Data Engineer will:
Develop robust automated data engineering solutions (ETLS) ahead of data analytics.
Liaise with engineers and senior management to identify potential concerns and root cause from data sets.
Determine trends between manufacturing data and cell performance to inform and teach in-line checks (such as defect definition and detection) and supplement other predictive tools.
Provide inputs to other analysis tools in the business such as statistical modelling, cell performance and manufacturing process simulation.
Transform raw data from multiple sources into information and dashboards which can be used to make critical business decisions.
The Data Engineer will have:
Degree qualification in relevant Engineering or Science discipline graded 2:1 or higher (such as but not limited to Computer Science, Mathematics, Software engineering, Data Management, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Con,)
Relevant industry experience in data engineering in a manufacturing environment (Automotive & Motorsport, Battery or Semiconductor Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals)
Experience in using Data integration and warehouses such as MS Azure, AWS Redshift
Excellent programming skills at various levels in at least one of C, C++, Java, Scala to support ETLS activity.
Ability to manage various stakeholder requirements and expectations on data management (voice of customer).
Strong attention to detail – data driven, diligent and thorough in approach.
