Overview
The Aylesbury Vale Academy are seeking to appoint a friendly and highly organised individual to join our Finance Department. The hours are 12 to 15 per week, ideally 1000 to 1400, 3 days per week, but we can be flexible on the working pattern.

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 3 Point 16 (24,310) to Point 20 (£26,295) Full-time Equivalent

Contract type: Permanent

About the role
This is an exciting time at the Aylesbury Vale Academy, an all-through Academy taking students from Nursery right up to 6th Form. The Academy is now set on a course of significant growth in an area of the country which is itself seeing a period of significant development.

The Finance Department plays a key role in supporting the Academy at this critical stage of development and the deployment of its strategic plan.

Reporting to the Business Manager, the responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will encompass:-

- Purchase and Sales Ledger processing
- Maintaining the ParentPay payment system
- Ordering from and dealing with suppliers
- Supporting internal customers

About you
Ideally, the candidate will have experience of working in a school finance environment, have good organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and be a good team player. They must be methodical in their approach as well as proactive, adaptable and flexible in meeting the Academy needs.

Candidates must have:-

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Financial experience or qualification ie NVQ Level 2
- Experience of purchase ledge management/control
- ICT literate and able to use Microsoft Office software
- Good understanding of financial controls including schemes of financial delegations
