I have partnered with my client who specialise in the delivery of defence solutions as they are looking to recruit a Project Manager to come in and help support the vast number of projects the business have one and to facilitate a number of large contracts with the MoD.

The role is a customer facing PM role where you will be managing multiple aspects of the schedule and stakeholders to ensure the team is on target to fulfil their obligations. The role is hands on where you will be holding design review meetings and offering trial and test support to ensure everything is to standard. As the contract is with the MoD, this role will need a commercially astute person to deal with eh high demands of the customer

Role responsibilities:

• Develop the project work breakdown structure and plan.
• Keep project plan up to date at all times.
• Develop recover schedules and contingency plans to meet changed objectives where necessary.
• Review risks and monitor critical timelines and ensure everything is updated accordingly.
• Report performance and variance against the plan and forecast outcomes.
• Monitor and audit sub–contractor plans and monitor contractors planning so that they align with the business.
• Identify and monitor key resource requirements.
• Lead the project planning meetings with all stakeholders and collate project status reports for cascade to the management team.
• Attend weekly 1–2–1 meetings with programme director.
• Willing to travel if required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B Eng / BSc in Mechanical or other Engineer discipline.
• Prince2 qualified.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
• Willing to travel.
• Experience of the defence industry would be advantageous.
• Experience of MoD as a customer would be advantageous.
• SAP experience.
• Engaging and constructive personality.
