We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our organisation as a Presales Team Lead. In this player/manager role (70/30% split, managing vs doing), you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled cloud solutions architects and driving the successful delivery of cloud-based solutions to our clients. You will play a crucial role in contributing to and overseeing the team responsible for architectural design of cloud solutions, ensuring nothing gets in their way in delivering their best work.
Objectives:
- Manage and lead a team of cloud solutions architects, providing guidance as an escalation point, providing support, removing blockers, and maximising their potential.
- Cultivating a positive team environment that produces exceptional work.
- Tracking and managing team performance, provide constructive feedback through one-to-one sessions, absence planning, mapping development and learning objectives, and organising associated training.
- Effectively manage team resource, scheduling, and prioritise work requests.
- Assigning and monitoring the delivery of pre-sales pricing and post-sale design work.
- Acting as a quality gate in the approval of completed proposals and contracts.
- Acting as intermediary between the team and stakeholders within the business such as Sales, Project Management and Build.
- Develop structured reporting to track team performance, availability, and workload progress.
- Engage in Design work and RFPs between other responsibilities.
- Have a Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field would be beneficial, but not a requirement.
- Have solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Have proven experience (3+ years) in a managerial and/or pre-sales role, leading a team of technical professionals.
- Possess excellent people management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering team objectives to the best of your ability.
- Are calm under pressure, even-tempered when challenged, and able to mediate competing priorities and stakeholders.
