Our Team is currently working on a vast project portfolio which is reshaping the entire energy sector in Scotland, with a focus on securing the UK's future energy security and net zero ambitions. This role will have an immediate project portfolio as part of our development and construction of the Overhead Line projects within the SSE ASTI Framework.

This role can be based out of our Eurocentral or Aberdeen Office and will require occasional travel to our projects around Scotland.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Buyer, you will have the following accountabilities:

• To update and manage Procurement Strategies for the Overhead Line (OHL) & Underground Cable (UGC) businesses as part of the overall SSE ASTI Framework.
• To create, update and manage Procurement Schedules for the Scotland Overhead Line (OHL) & Underground Cable (UGC) businesses on a day-to-day basis.
• Effective communication and relationship management to build strong relationships and manage key stakeholders.
• To expedite key materials to site.
• Preparation of request for proposals and quotations.
• Manage key supply chain risks.
• Carrying out supplier evaluations for designated procurement exercises.
• Conducting negotiations to enable the shortlisting of suppliers, for designated procurement exercises.
• Leading and/or supporting final negotiations with selected suppliers.
• Preparing orders in accordance with BB Power T&D procurement governance where required.
• Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers and products and meet with suppliers to understand their products.
• Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge, and process efficiency.
• Establish performance led supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality, and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

• Previous experience of procurement processes within a utilities related environment including working with both materials suppliers and subcontractors.
• A proven track record in negotiation and process compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, a measured approach to decision making and the ability to ensure best value procurement.
• The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential
• MCIPS or an interest in studying towards MCIPS is advantageous.
