£90,000 - £120,000 per annum

MacKenzie King are seeking a Director of Finance for an impressive financial/professional services business based in Ipswich. Reporting directly into the Managing Director the purpose of your role will be to oversee the management of the companies corporate accounting and reporting activities. You will be responsible for a finance team and your remit will include reporting and presenting financial information to the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team.

The position will also be expected to manage budgets, meet financial and non financial targets including driving efficiencies across the departments, engendering co-operation across the respective teams, streamlining operations across functions, whilst maintaining an emphasis on reducing operational risk.

In addition, actively engage with and support the delivery and expansion of new business with existing and new clients.

Key tasks and responsibilities

- Strategic Focus

Actively engage in management of relationships between the finance teams and the businesses' clients and where appropriate directly manage, drive and "own" a number of these relationships with a view to achieving client satisfaction, revenue and profitability targets.

Identify opportunities to further strengthen the relationship between the clients and the businesses, and act as the facilitator to the provision of additional services and products.

- Operational Management

Manage resources and finance within agreed budget

Enhance processes, technology and engagement with all areas of the business to drive operational performance

Regularly review work practices/ procedures to identify opportunities to improve quality and productivity.

- People Leadership

Create and maintain an engaged, commercially aware, professional working environment that supports the overall culture of the business.

Mentor management where appropriate, to achieve development, career growth and satisfaction.

- Governance & Risk

Ensure that finance outputs and deliverables are compliant with and remain up to date with Regulatory requirements and are adapted and amended as required in a timely manner.

Qualifications and experience

You will be a qualified accountant with experience of working at a senior level and ideally with the senior leadership team with appropriate technical and operational experience. You will develop relationships with ease and be committed to providing excellent service to the wider business and externally. As a natural collaborator, you will work with your peers to achieve the businesses commercial and strategic goals. The role will require you to be delivery focused and develop creative solutions to issues and problems that may arise while working to improve process and service and lead implementation of changes.
