We have an exciting locum opportunity for aCity Development Manager with UK experience to join our team.
Location: Southampton
Pay rate (Assignment rate): £39.49 per hour
Contract Length: Up to 6-Months
Duties:
- Play a significant role in developing an environment where Southampton is chosen over other cities as a place to work and reside
- Successful design and implementation of a major property investments in the City in general and the City Centre in particular, to sustain and enhance Southampton’s position as a regional centre
- Lead on a portfolio of major property development projects and to head-up inter-disciplinary (and sometimes cross-organisational) project teams charged with implementing them
- Support the Service Lead in the formulation and implementation of strategies
- Advice to Members on the nature, level and provision of projects required to achieve objectives for the City, the City Centre in particular, and the advancement of the City and city region in general
- Project Management of commissions received from Committees to progress specified major projects and investments, meeting budget, timescale and quality considerations
- Management of a Project Support Officer and seconded staff and consultants as appropriate
- Undertake identification, design, appraisal, implementation, monitoring and evaluation exercises
- Liaise closely with potential developers and inward investors in the promotion of property development schemes and with the private sector in general
- Prepare submissions for external funding of major projects: negotiate partnerships and monitor and review implementation of these schemes
- Line management of Project Support Officer
