Job description

Falcon Coffees was established in the UK in 2008 as an ethical green coffee trading company. Falcon’s mission is to build collaborative supply chains for positive social and environmental outcomes. A vital part of the business is focused on servicing the specialty coffee industry. The specialty team of 13 people currently source green coffee from about 15 origins, selling to 36 destination countries. Due to our continued growth in Europe, we are looking to add people to our team.

The candidate will be responsible for growing and servicing Falcon’s client base in Europe. This will involve buying planning, client visits, public cuppings (after training) and participation in festivals. The role will require the candidate to increase sales volume to existing clients as well as onboard new clients. The candidate will be based in Lewes and work alongside EU Sales Manager and the logistics team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain existing client relationships.
• Target new clients or new markets, onboard new customers.
• Monitor and follow market trends and explore opportunities for growth.
• Communicate Falcon’s values and origin involvement to the clients.
• Provide customer support and work closely with the Sales Manager.
• Regular customer visits and cuppings.
• Assist with organising events and client visits.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in specialty coffee sales and good understanding of specialty coffee market.
• Fluent in English
• Fluent in any European language
• Outgoing, independent, and confident individual
• Self-starter and able to work independently as well as in a team
• Good reporting and communication skills

Desirable

• Extra language(s)
• Experience in a procurement role for a coffee roasting company or experience with a green coffee company
• Experience in roasting coffee
• Experience in Quality control (cupping, green sorting)
• Comfortable with public speaking
