Job description

HSE Manager

We are looking to hire a ESH Manager / HSE Manager to plan, coordinate and control all ESH activities for the UK production plant of a Global manufacturer for the automotive, industrial and MRO sectors. We are seeking an ambitious individual with a proven background in ESH within a production or manufacturing environment and an understanding of continuous improvement of HSE processes. This role has genuine opportunities to expand skills and areas of responsibility.

Ideal Location: Wigan, Bolton, St Helens, Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Chorley, Oldham, Runcorn, Bury, Stretford, Oldham, Runcorn, Bury, Stretford, Rochdale, Stockport, Northwich, Blackburn, Preston

Circa £48-52k basic + Bonus, up to 10% + excellent pension + life assurance + westfield health + 25 days holiday

The role

• Manage and coordinate all ESH activities , whilst contributing to strategic and operative planning for the UK plant.
• Ensure the achievement of Environmental, Security and Health and Safety targets according to internal and external expectations.
• Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities.
• Represent the UK plant at negotiations with responsible authorities concerning any ESH topics.
• Prepare, review and manage ESH budgets and forecasts .
• Implement external (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001) and internal standards and legal requirements.
• Check compliance with legal and internal regulations and implement measures.
• Execute workshops and coaching of employees.

The candidate

• Our ideal candidate will have a proven, successful background in an ESH / HSE Management or leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• You will be eager to learn and progress with the desire to expand to other areas such as Quality Management.
• Experience of implementing and managing security systems , fire prevention and protection systems, health management , environmental protection , occupational safety and hazardous substance management is crucial for this position.
• Relevant qualifications and certifications should include NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent bodies .
