Job Title: Videographer & Content Creator
Job Type: Part-Time
Salary: £19.62 per hour (average 10 hours per week)
Start Date: 11th March 2024 (can be flexible with your timetable)
End Date: August 2024 (maximum of 30 weeks)

We are seeking a talented and creative Part-Time Videographer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling through video and a strong eye for detail. This individual will be responsible for both capturing and editing high-quality video content, mainly in the ‘talking-head’ style, to capture authentic staff and student voices from across the institution of Queen’s University, Belfast. This video content will be published on our Digital Assessment & Feedback Toolkit (on SharePoint) and will ultimately support staff in enhancing their assessment and feedback practices.
Key Responsibilities
Video Production:
- Capture high-quality video footage using 4K camera and high-quality audio equipment.
- Set up and manage lighting, audio, and other production equipment for shoots.
- Plan and execute video shoots, including framing, composition, and shot selection.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Assist the interviewer and interviewee with ad-hoc video production-related needs.
Video Editing:
- Store and organise raw video footage securely and in a clear and logical system.
- Plan and storyboard raw footage into compelling, cohesive videos.
- Add music, b-roll footage, graphics, and other elements to enhance the visual appeal of the videos.
- Use video editing software to create engaging and professional content.
- Ensure that the final videos meet the company's branding and project messaging guidelines.
Content Development:
- Collaborate with Laura Farling (project coordinator) and creative teams to develop video concepts and storyboards.
- Propose innovative ideas and approaches to video content that align with the project objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in video production.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintain organised records of video assets, including backups and archives.
- Communicate effectively with the project coordinator, video subjects, and other team members to align to project goals and deadlines.
Qualifications We are open to receiving applications from any student at Queens (regardless of subject discipline or level). However, it is vital that the successful candidate complies with the following:
- Candidate must be a current student at Queen’s University, Belfast.
- Proven experience as a videographer, with a portfolio of previous work.
- Proficiency in video recording and editing software (e.g. Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.).

Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with various video formats and distribution platforms.
- An interest in education.
- Knowledge of web design principles and management of digital assets designed for a public audience.
