About the Role

We seek an exceptional Cloud Architect to work on designing our cloud solution architecture. This role sits in our Bluedoor services, our cloud-hosted registry platform widely used by Wealth Managers and Retirement Providers.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and implementing our cloud strategy, and designing robust, secure, and scalable cloud solutions to meet business requirements. You will use your skills to translate architectural designs into easily deployable modules and services reducing complexity and delivery times.

Your Responsibilities

• Influence the development of cloud technical strategies (AWS and Azure), guide decision-making processes, and provide expert advice on cloud solution architecture with a strong security focus.
• Design and architect Kubernetes-based solutions that align with organizational goals and scalability requirements.
• Define and implement security best practices for Kubernetes architecture, including access controls, network policies, and encryption.
• Create consistent repeatable patterns, artefacts, and architectures.
• Collaborate with the global security team to assess and understand our attack surface, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Design strong security and compliance controls within cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and auditing.
• Manage cloud vendor relationships, and proactively oversee cloud-related costs and performance.
• Mentor/lead high-performance specialists across complex services and environments.
• Design infrastructure as code (IaC) modules to be deployed using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK to ensure consistent and secure cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of the cloud environment.
  
   

Your Experience

Education and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or CISSP are highly desirable.

Prior knowledge and skills:

 

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong focus on cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes (EKS), and container orchestration (ideally within an MSP environment).
• Strong understanding of private, public and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure security services, including Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Detective, Sentinel, and Defender.
• Proficient in producing technical documentation for operational team deployments.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform), CloudFormation, AWS services, and CLI.
• Familiarity with endpoint security solutions like CrowdStrike
• Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance standards.

• Familiarity with container security in EKS and AKS environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team.
