Job description
As part of our commitment to developing our workforce, we are delighted to offer the opportunity for Nursing Students due to qualify in September 2024 to apply for one of our recently created rotational posts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain experience over an 18 or 24-month period in two or three clinical areas, dependent upon the rotation choice. If you are not sure where you would ideally like to work, or perhaps have not had the opportunity to experience a placement on an area you are interested in, this could the ideal post for you.
You will be supported by the Professional Development Team and ward Clinical Sister during your preceptorship and will work toward completing your competencies for each part of the rotation. You will join your first rotation and be paid at a band 2 until you receive your NMC PIN. Once you are registered you will commence your first Band 5 post and will remain on this rotation for the specified period. When the first part of your rotation is completed, you would then move to the next part of your rotation contract. You will remain on your rotational contract until you have completed your contracted rotational placements. Once you have successfully completed all areas of the rotation, you will be offered the opportunity to take a permanent role in the rotational area of your choice.
Please indicate your choice of rotation and either Grimsby or Scunthorpe, please note that on rotation 1 Community is only available in Scunthorpe.
There are three rotations to choose from:
Rotation 1
Community
9-month Community Nurse
9 Month in Acute at SGH either Medicine or Surgery
Rotation 2
9 months in IAAU
9 months in ECC
Rotation 3(N.B. either rotation 2 or rotation 3 would be available, not both)
8 months on a medical ward
8 months on AAU
8 months on ECC
Upon completion of your application, you will be invited to attend a Nursing Recruitment Open Day where you’ll have the opportunity to meet some of our teams and be interviewed for a position. Those who attend the open day will gain insight into what it’s like working at the Trust which runs the hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole, as well as community services in North Lincolnshire.
You will have the opportunity to meet some of the Senior Nursing team and hear the experiences of our current newly qualified nurses.
