The Process (or Mechanical) engineer will support the design of complex thermal and fluid systems for the Rolls Royce SMR project. This exciting new build project is embracing innovation to deliver a commercially . The role will provide analysis and calculation support across all Cooling Water Island Systems and will contribute to an internal centre of excellence for analysis and calculation methodology. Along with the cross-cutting lead you will generate static and transient flow and thermal analyses using various software tools and methods to demonstrate the system performance.
In addition the analysis engineer will assist with:
Produce, review & update the system documentation
Performing analysis to define the control philosophy for the system
Perform sizing of components
Thermal-hydraulic calculation & modelling
Formulating equipment specifications
Required Experience:
Process or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
Demonstrated understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer & thermodynamics
Experience of producing design documentation and test specifications
Experience of PIPESIM, Flomaster or other 1D CFD software
