The Opportunity:
As a result of continued growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join our Compliance team at our Bristol Head Office. This is a full-time permanent role and offers the benefits of a flexible hybrid working. Typically, this would require 1-2 days in our Bristol office per week with a choice of working from home on the other days (following an initial induction period).
The Compliance manager is a second line role sitting in Triodos Bank UK’s (TBUK) Compliance team within the wider Risk department. Reporting to the Senior Compliance manager, the successful candidate will provide advice, guidance, and assurance across the TBUK business, aiding in ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
The primary responsibility of the role holder will be to oversee first-line activities and report on the effectiveness of systems and controls. They will play a key role in supporting the first line to manage compliance risks, challenging, and influencing stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Additionally, they will provide technical advice and guidance to support projects and address individual topic-driven queries.

What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role you have relevant experience within compliance-related roles in financial services, ideally within retail banking. This experience should encompass a deep understanding of frameworks and operational risk controls. You should have a proven track record in overseeing financial crime and compliance, providing project support, and offering detailed advice, particularly concerning banking and investment products,
Your expertise should extend to working wit Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) principles and regulations, as well as anti-money laundering (AML) principles, fraud, and sanctions legislation, focusing on TBUK’s activities in the retail banking market. Additionally, you should demonstrate strategic insight into developing compliance controls, including those tailored for digital channels.
Skills should include proficiency in regulatory horizon scanning, enabling you to analyse and summarise complex regulatory proposals, rules, and guidance effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to review, understand and disseminate technical regulatory information, as well as see tasks to conclusion.
The ability to manage workload, meet targets and adhere to deadlines in dynamic environment. Effective interaction and collaboration with all levels of the business with credibility and friendly professionalism, and create clear, realistic expectations, as well as challenge / escalate issues where necessary.
Excellent written communication with the ability to draft reports, for different audiences, plus the continuous development of policies as required. While comfortable working independently but also able to coach and guide other team members of the team; developing and maintaining relationships within TBUK, Triodos Group, and Risk & Compliance community.
Additionally, a genuine interest in social and environmental responsibility is valued, and possessing a Compliance qualification would be advantageous.

Offer
In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a salary of between £45,000- £55,000 Full Time Equivalent salary depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.
