JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 20 year old lad and live in the Llanharry area with my family. I am looking for a personal assistant who can accompany me on activities outside the home to help me socialise. I am currently attending a group, which promotes lighting sound and music; this is something I am interested in. My parents describe me as very talkative and always joking around with a good sense of humour.

PURPOSE OF JOB

My parents are looking for a Personal Assistant to help develop my social skills and promote my independence and self-confidence.

PLACE OF WORK

In and around the local area

HOURS OF WORK

Total of 6 hours a week

days per week 4pm-7pm

RATE OF PAY

£12.00 per hour plus mileage where applicable

TASKS INVOLVED

Supervising my behaviour when we are out
Helping me develop my social skills
Encouraging me to be more independent
Keeping me safe and helping me make good decisions
Going to the cinema
Going to McDonald’s
Playing in the arcades with me
Attending local groups that I might like

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Someone who can drive and has access to own car
Someone with similar interests as me
Someone with a good sense of humour
Someone who can stick to strict boundaries with me
Someone who is understanding

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
