Job Responsibilities
(Internal Title : Scheduling II)
- Applying project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet project requirements
- Assists in the preparation of or develop the master project schedule by defining activities, dependencies, and interfaces with support from Project Management Team and various engineering team leaders
- Assist in Developing or develop and maintaining all the required project schedules and ensure data integrity across the entire project life cycle
- Reviews scope changes and claims for schedule and cost impact and provide feedback to financial and contract management staff
- Creation and implementation of key scheduling requirements such as activity coding, naming conventions, client requirements management protocol, project calendars, and resource and plant data libraries
- Interacts with the Contractors’ personnel to review and analyze contract schedules
- Analyze schedule variance, float, and trending and monitor schedule KPIs
- Support progress measurement process and analyze progress and performance data
- Prepares schedule reports, graphs and cost or schedule performance reports for project review meetings
- Performs and coordinates, collects, verifies, and integrates the work scope for all entities into the total project plan. Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients
- Provides guidance to junior schedulers
- Performing all other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications Required
Education:
Licenses or Certifications:
- PMP, PMI-SP or PSP is an asset
- Oracle Primavera P6 certificate is an asset
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in planning and scheduling
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in the Nuclear, Heavy Industry, Infrastructure, or EPC projects is considered an asset
- This is a hybrid role; the incumbent is expected to be in office a minimum of 3 days a week in the Durham region
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Advanced skills in Excel
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, Synchro, Power BI and TILOS is an asset
- Must have a good understanding of multi-discipline engineering and construction projects
- Continuing professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices
- Highly organized and able to multitask
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
