Job Title: Head of Safeguarding
Team/Directorate: Care Directorate
Salary range/pay band: £52,963 - £59,360
Reports to: Director of Care
Hours: 37.5 hours
Location: Across both hospice sites (based at Christopher’s, Guildford)
Job holder: Vacant
An exciting new post as Head of Safeguarding at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices has been developed to:
- Be the designated safeguarding lead for the Hospice.
- Create and implement the Hospice safeguarding strategy.
- Ensure all staff know how to raise safeguarding concerns.
- Refer any concerns of the welfare of a child to social services when appropriate.
- Ensure all staff have the appropriate training to understand the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are always up to standard, and always reflect the most recent laws and regulations.
- Manage the operational team of social workers.
