QA Manager
Role
The QA Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the QA department.
Duties
- Maintenance of our Quality systems which includes ISO 9001; ISO 14001, ISO 45001; ISO 3824-2; ASME U + U2 Stamp; NBIC ‘R’ Stamp; BS EN 1090 Exe 3; DNV Approved Workshop for Welding; DNV Approved Workshop for Class Pressure Vessels and PED/PE(S)R Module H.
- Delegating work to QA department team members.
- Liaise with subcontractors i.e. NDT Technicians and any external testing companies.
- Responsible for handling all external QA audits for all accreditations.
- Liaise with clients regarding any QA questions or requirements.
- Handling all Company NCR’s – internal and external.
- Liaise with chargehands, foremen and other tradesmen as required.
- Generation and maintenance of Company KPI’s.
- Vendor QA Management including completion of audits.
- Ensure health, safety and environmental policies are adhered to.
- Ensure Quality Systems are maintained by diligent upkeep of:
- Review of welding requirements for projects.
- Ensure work is allocated to qualified personnel.
- Issue and use of work instructions.
- Any supplementary requirements in the material purchasing specifications, including the type of inspection document for the material.
- Liaise with Welding Engineer and Welding Inspector regarding all welding requirements.
- Ensure client purchase order and drawing requirements are fully met.
- Oversee the following tasks:
- final checking of QA Packages.
- updating of welder qualifications.
- maintenance of calibration records.
- Ensure that procedures for risk assessments, safety audits and inspections are implemented.
- Conduct/arrange job specific training for employees.
- Ensure that procedures for safe plant and equipment are implemented, and act as the contact for reporting unsafe plant and equipment.
- Assist in accident investigations.
- Reporting malpractice or infringement to company rules.
- Spotting areas of deficiencies in Company working practices and suggesting improvements.
- Ensure you work safely and you are not endangering yourself, those around you or the environment.
- Ensuring client requirements are met.
Candidate Requirements
- Engineering trade background or engineering degree. (essential)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in general engineering, marine and/or oil industry. (essential)
- Familiarity with grades of steel and other metals used in oil industry. (beneficial)
- Working knowledge of all relevant ISO’s. (beneficial)
- Understanding of Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). (beneficial)
- Working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems. (beneficial)
- Familiarity with Classification Society rules – Lloyds, DNV and ABS. (beneficial)
- Working knowledge of ASME + API. (beneficial)
Remuneration
On offer for this position is a salary of £55-65K with additional benefits.
