Job description
SUMMARY
The Infrastructure Engineer ensures the efficient delivery of critical applications, technical implementation & maintenance of the Epay UK IT infrastructure.
The role performs a wide variety of analytical, design, planning, implementation, and problem-solving tasks on global computer systems and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems.
This role is critical to the organisation, requiring a technical expert who can manage complexity and deliver key infrastructure upgrades and services while assuring Epays ability to deliver both internal and external services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, installs, solves problems and supports physical and virtual servers for the purpose of ensuring reliability of systems and services across a global estate.
- Analyses, identifies and corrects technology issues, resolving operational issues and restoring services.
- Documents procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems, software and hardware; develops and reviews documentation.
- Acts as a liaison to vendors and technical support to resolve complex problems.
- Contributes to plans, implements and maintains backup and DR procedures to ensure rapid recovery for mission-critical systems, and services.
- Works with product development & support teams.
- Performs network troubleshooting, changes & contributes to network design.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years’ experience working in an IT engineering or support role
- Experience administering IT systems.
- Microsoft Server & Workstation O/S
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification
- VMware vSphere
- Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Load Balancers
- Active Directory
DESIRED EXPERIENCE/ QUALITIES
- Experience working with hosted bespoke applications.
- Experience with Linux
- Public key infrastructure
