Personal Assistant for Senior Leadership Team
Job Purpose and Context
The Chief Executive’s Office incorporates various functions such as policy, performance, MP/customer/elected member/Government department liaison, liaison with external bodies / partners, coordination of management information.
The Executive Support Officer is a part of this team providing high-level executive support to the Chief Executive’s Office to ensure the efficient and effective running of the leadership function at Ryedale District Council.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the delivery of the objectives of the Strategic Management Board, through provision of a proactive, high-level executive support service.
The post-holders will be the key point of contact for the Chief Executive Officer and Strategic Management Board, proactively managing internal/external enquires and communication, most of which will be of a sensitive and/or confidential nature, using personal judgement and sound decision-making.
Qualifications and training
Good standard of English and Maths, or significant experience in a similar role.
Evidence of continuous professional development
Knowledge
Extensive practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook as a minimum
Knowledge of OneNote
Awareness and knowledge and commitment to Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety legislation and of safeguarding responsibilities.
Knowledge and understanding of local government including its policy framework and legislative requirements.
Ability to utilise web based research methods for maintaining awareness of best practice and future developments.
Strong awareness of partnership and collaborative approaches that enhance service delivery and maximise best value benefits.
Extensive practical knowledge of customer service principles and good practice standards
Experience
Experience of providing a high-level personal and administrative support service to a senior leader in a fastmoving, complex organisation
Experience of building strong, positive working relationships across departmental and organisational boundaries
Experience of working within set policies and procedures in a highly scrutinized environment
Experience of working in the public sector
Experience of delivering high quality customer service in a pressurised, fast paced environment
