Salary up to £100,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Pension
Blaymires Recruitment is representing a respected main contractor based near Basingstoke who is searching for a Construction Planner to join the team.
The company has a reputation for expert craftsmanship and has built a brand for delivering high class refurbishments, new builds and renovations of country homes throughout the South of England with project values up to £50 Million.
The Role
To plan and draft tender programmes, provide support to project management teams, to update and reschedule programmes through the construction phase which involves speaking regularly with the Operational Managers across numerous projects, monitoring progress and highlighting any delays caused or acceleration achieved. To manage and monitor progress of works against KPI targets, recommending and implementing corrective action where necessary.
Main Responsibilities
- Compile Tender programmes and sequence methodologies.
- Consult with subcontractors to discuss and plan phases of the programme.
- Ensure the quality of programmes is consistent and company standards are maintained.
- Attend and present programme information at tender adjudications and post tender interviews.
- Once projects are won, assist the project team to develop the construction programme.
- Support project construction teams with CPD related to the use of the Elecosoft Powerproject software.
- Assist project teams to maintain an as built programme throughout the construction phase, recording actual start, duration, finish dates and updating progress with fortnightly drop lines.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience of Construction Planning.
- Qualification in construction HNC/ HND / BSC or member of a professional Association i.e CIOB.
- Good understanding of the Design & Procurement Process in Construction.
- Experience of recording and reporting progress?.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and translate that into work activities on site.
- Good IT skills with some experience with planning software, ideally Elecosoft Powerproject.
- Tender programmes completed to deadlines.
- Ensure key dates and milestones are achieved through the construction phase.
- Record the impact of delay and disruption.
- Accurate programme updating, reporting and forecasting.
- Feedback from the preconstruction and construction teams.
- Practical, logical, and methodical approach to programming complex projects.
- Confident in dealing directly with Architects, Construction Management Teams, and Subcontractors.
- Must have site experience.
