Job Purpose:
Undertake individually or as part of a team, the cleaning of designated Council Premises. Duties will include the general cleaning, washing, sweeping, polishing and dusting of designated areas including toilet and associated facilities and fixtures and fittings, using where appropriate the necessary powered equipment
Obtain and maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment for day to day requirements and ensure safe storage of same
Clean the designated areas of the allocated Council premises to the standard agreed with the Building Cleaning Supervisor and the Client in the time allocated. Cleaning shall include the use of chemicals approved by the Council’s Safety Officer through the Officer of Public Protection
Clear away from sites minor quantities of general and/or household rubbish
Accurately record on appropriate form as instructed details of all duties performed
Note and advise Supervisor/Chargehand of any problem or defect which may delay completion of jobs
To comply with health and Safety regulations associated with your employment, Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments and Regulations and other legal requirements
Nationally agreed Codes of Practice which are relevant
