Are you a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant seeking a permanent position?
We are collaborating with Primary Schools in Derby and is seeking a TA with SEND specialisation to join their committed support team. This role entails supporting students with challenging behaviours and autism. We welcome applicants with experience and qualifications in assisting children with ASD, ADHD, and ADD to apply for this fantastic opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder Support: Personalized aid for non-verbal children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
- Engagement Strategies: Employ visual aids to facilitate communication and improve learning outcomes.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Partner closely with colleagues to develop customized education plans for non-verbal children with ASD.
- Monitoring Progress: Evaluate and monitor progress, collaborating to implement effective learning adjustments.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Desirable: Previous experience working with children in a school environment.
- Excellent understanding of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviours, and developmental delays.
- Calm demeanour in challenging situations.
- Quick thinking and ability to act independently and as part of a team.
- Strong behaviour management skills, creating a positive and enjoyable learning environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
