We are one of the UK's leading suppliers of architectural aluminium profiles within the construction industry as well as being one of the UK’s leading suppliers of waterproofing solutions, predominantly for flat roofs. Due to our continued expansion and significant investment, we are seeking an experienced Aluminium TIG Welder based in our aluminium fabrication facility, in Poole, Dorset.

This is a permanent position and salary will be dependent on experience.

Working hours: 39.5 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm / Fri 8.30am - 4.00pm

The ideal candidate will have previous and recent Aluminium TIG welding experience and be willing to work and multitask within other areas of the workshop.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Working from technical drawings to determine weld specifications

· Setting up welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate tungsten electrode, gas, and welding wire

· Preparing metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as needed

· Positioning and securing metal parts to be welded, using clamps or fixtures

· Operating the TIG welding machine to create a strong and tidy weld

· Monitoring the welding process to ensure the proper heat and speed are maintained

· Inspecting welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications

· Making any necessary adjustments to the welding process to improve the quality of the weld

· Following safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries while welding

· Ability and flexibility to assist in other areas of the workshop as and when required

Requirements

· Previous Aluminium TIG welding experience

· Multiskilled fabricator

· High level of attention to detail

· Good hand-eye coordination

· Ability to work effectively with metal fabrication tools and equipment

· Strong understanding of welding techniques and processes

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

· Team player and hardworking attitude
