Salary: £28,000-£32,000 + overtime. 25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays

AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A QUALIFIED SITE CHEMIST / SHIFT CHEMIST TO THRIVE IN THE FOREFRONT OF HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT

Site Chemist / Shift Chemist – Day shift
25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays.

CLIENT: Boasting a formidable presence in the hazardous waste management sector, my client is actively seeking to recruit a Site Chemist / Shift Chemist possessing industrial and technical expertise.

Equipped with a strategic hazardous waste treatment facility and an extensive transport network, they extend specialized services to diverse clients with varied needs.

Previous roles may encompass: Shift Chemist or Site Chemist, Process Chemist, Technical Assessor, Chemical Manufacture, Transfer Station Chemist.

ROLE: Site Chemist / Shift Chemist
Responsibilities include the collection and analysis of hazardous and non-hazardous waste samples, covering liquids such as acids, alkalis, oils, petrol, effluent, and diesel, as well as industrial services, coatings, paints, and thinners.
Management of all pertinent paperwork.
Preparation of waste labels for inbound and outbound materials.
Ensuring adherence to Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.
Conducting COSHH assessments.
Preparing processed waste streams for National Distribution.

EXPERIENCE: Site Chemist / Shift Chemist
Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS: A HND/Degree in Chemistry or related subjects (e.g., Biology or Forensics, with sufficient Chemistry modules included).
Additional advantageous experience or training:
Site Chemist / Industrial Chemistry / Hazardous waste industry experience, including tank farming of liquids (acids, alkalis, oils, petrol, effluent, diesel), industrial services, coatings, paints, thinners.

PREVIOUS TITLES: Technical Assessor, Site Chemist, Industrial Chemist, Industrial Assessor, Shift Chemist
Beneficial qualifications:
Counterbalance Forklift Truck license
IOSH
