Job description
Successful post holders will also have the option to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCert) or equivalent appropriate Postgraduate Certificate (e.g. Simulation and Patient Safety or Health Leadership and Management), which is funded up to a maximum of £3,500 by the Medical Education Department. There will also be an additional reasonable study leave budget. Successful candidates will have a proven ability and commitment to teach in clinical and non-clinical settings, and will act as a key clinical liaison for medical students throughout their clinical pathway placements/blocks. These posts will also work closely with clinical departments to deliver bedside teaching, assist in demonstrating and teaching practical/clinical skills within both the clinical environment and simulated teaching scenarios, and develop local departmental teaching opportunities for all medical students. The Teaching Clinical Fellows will also undertake formal teaching within the Undergraduate programme, when required, within the academic day programme. This could include the delivery of tutorials, lectures, and simulation sessions for Year 3-5 medical students. Successful applicants will also have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, and the ability to work independently.
