The purpose of this role is to manage a team of analysts to deliver reporting, MI and insights across the span of the commercial team. While the team remains relatively small, it is anticipated that the ‘Head of’ role will also undertake and deliver some analysis and may own some aspects of regular reporting.
This team’s output is a critical input to understanding the performance of our current and future customer and commercial activities and to making timely decisions to improve effectiveness and make both tactical commercial decisions and as input to longer term strategic questions.
This role will establish close relationships with the key decision makers in the commercial team and develop a clear understanding of their priorities and challenges so that the analytics team can be focussed on supporting their needs.
Responsibilities:
• managing and motivating the analytics team to deliver their objectives.
• developing relationships with commercial team leaders and understanding their needs today and in future.
• understanding and anticipating data and analytics needs in relation to PP strategy – and building appropriate capability.
• Manage team to deliver MI, reporting and analysis to support commercial performance including:
• Marketing reporting, campaign analysis and marketing RoI
• Distribution performance (new business & retention), including intermediary analysis
• Developments in existing customer base (e.g. increased contributions, insolvencies etc
• Forecasting to manage demand & inform commercial planning
Qualifications:
• Highly numerate, degree level
• Strong commercial understanding (e.g. marketing return on investment, pricing levers)
• Experience of managing and motivate small teams of analysts.
• Ability to engage with senior commercial managers and distil their requirements.
• Manage project/analytics lifecycle from understanding requirements through to testing and delivery.
• Used to managing small budget.
• Good understanding of the marketing and business development life cycle.
• Direct marketing experience (both e-mail and paper DM preferred)
• Financial Services experience (pensions an advantage).
• Ability to work quickly and accurately with a high attention to detail.
• Customer focused.
• Able to hit regular deadlines.
• Able to manage resources as priorities change.
• Self-motivated, disciplined and organised.
