Job description
Our client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions. They specialise in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers and have ventured into the EV space. Their aim is to help their client base reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy costs, while also supporting the growth of clean, renewable energy sources. They are a leading independent connections provider accredited by Lloyds, through the NERS scheme allowing them to provide an end to end service including connection to the DNO network.
On their behalf we are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join their operations team in Swindon, in this role you will oversee works carried out by the junior team members and hold direct responsibility for ensuring all electrical networks are installed in a safe and professional manner with high standards.
Project Engineer- Responsibilities for this position include:
- Manage direct reports covering all managerial tasks including, but not limited to, performance reviews, authorising expenses, holiday and equipment requests and upskilling.
- Manage and supervise all site personnel working on HV & LV networks.
- Assist in the training and development of Sinewave personnel wishing to become an LV AP or HV AP.
- Carry out audits and inspection of the workplace, tools, equipment and company vehicles.
- Ensure personnel under your control fully understand and adhere to their job requirements.
- Carry out network operations under instruction from the Network Control Engineer.
- Carry out fault work on networks as required.
- Responsible for the operational management of HV and LV installations.
- Prepare switching programs for approval by another SAP Engineer.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of HV/LV distribution systems.
- Undertake site specific risk assessments and create RAMS.
- Manage project budgets to assure efficiency.
- Plan and co-ordinate projects and fault response call-outs.
- Assess potentially hazardous and dangerous situations and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of personnel, other site operatives and the general public.
- Issue and cancel safety documents.
- Understand local network anomalies and ensure correct phase rotation.
- Assist other SAPs in carrying out network switching operations.
- Produce clear reports for works undertake.
Project Engineer- Requirements for this position include:
- Right to work in the UK
- Full UK Driving Licence (with a maximum of 3 points)
- CSCS Card (or affiliated)
- Authorisations up to 33kV including permit to work or extensive experience of 11kV.
- Qualified to carry out multiple works using electrical equipment
