ROLE OVERVIEW
The Coucil's Housing Service is seeking an Assistant Director of Housing to address operational challenges including HRA finances, repairs service, and digital interface with residents. Reporting to the Director of Housing, this strategic role will lead key programmes and projects aimed at continuous service improvement and operational management, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead the implementation of key programmes and projects to support continuous improvement in the Housing Service.
– Analyse service provision options, ensuring best value and alignment with government legislation and policies.
– Develop and maintain effective services with tenant satisfaction as a priority.
– Foster partnership working and act as an ambassador for the Council.
– Ensure compliance with statutory provisions and strategic alignment with the Council's constitution and procedures.
– Provide timely advice to stakeholders and support the development of effective working relationships with Council members.
ABOUT YOU
Essential Skills/Experience:
– Minimum first–degree level education in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
– Extensive experience in designing and delivering complex corporate policies.
– Strong leadership skills with experience in leading multi–disciplinary teams.
– Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across organisational boundaries.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Understanding of project management lifecycles and methodologies, e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, M_o_R, APM, Praxis etc.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
