Head Chef
Salary: £16.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Welwyn Grange is a brand new care home opening soon, set within the heart of the community in Welwyn Garden City. We will be bringing a fresher approach to residential, nursing and support.
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced and self-motivated Head Chef to be part of something special from the very beginning.
If you are fed up working split shifts, late nights and every weekend but still love working in the kitchen then this could be the role for you!
As this is a brand new service this is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your skills in sourcing quality suppliers, creating new menus, and to be part of creating your team from the outset.
With previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment your duties will include:
* preparing, cooking and presenting appetising, balanced and varied nutritious foods
* ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times and the environment is safe
* manage, coach and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants to be efficient within their roles.
You will lead the team in producing menus that are accessible to all residents and reflect season changes, as well as offering a choice, therefore previous care home experience and knowledge of IDDSI would be an advantage.
