Head of Logistics

Role Profile
Our client, who is a leading business in their market, are looking to recruit a high-calibre Head of Logistics to join the team and oversee the logistics function, driving continuous improvement across Transport & Warehouse operations as well as day to day leadership of the team. You will work Monday to Friday typical office hours with flexibility required in line with business needs. You will be named on the O' License and so will require National/ International CPC.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for fleet management, ensuring company vehicles are maintained and road worthy and that all relevant documentation is accurate & up to date.
Drive a safety-first culture ensuring full compliance to all legislation.
Identify CI opportunities and implement change as needed, including systems, data, fleet, etc.
Maximise vehicle efficiency, particularly route optimisation and vehicle fill rates.
Manage all departmental KPI's to ensure optimal performance delivery, always striving to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times through effective leadership and root cause investigation and corrective actions being introduced.
Manage the logistics budget and ensure cost controls align with budgets.
Collaborate with Production to ensure efficient stocky & inventory management.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven record of identifying and implementing CI initiatives across Logistics function, particularly Transport-focused change
Tech savvy, with experience of using variety of TMS software.
CPC National/ International is essential for the role.
Experience with nationwide, multi-drop deliveries.
Change management& growth mindset.
Strong Transport knowledge, with previous experience being named on O 'License.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
