Job description
Apple Recruitment are recruiting for 2 X Part-Time Assembly Ushers (Car Park Duties) on behalf of the NI Assembly. This will primarily be work outdoors between Monday and Thursday from 8am to 4pm, 29.6 hours (working hours will be reviewed in line with business need and may change).
As an Assembly Usher (car park duties only), your main duties and responsibilities are:
· Providing accurate information and customer service to Members, staff, Secretariat staff and members of the public on general Assembly arrangements and facilities;
· Conducting patrols of Parliament Buildings car parks, taking appropriate action to deal with any related incidents or requests for assistance, and reporting and logging such incidents;
· Providing first line assistance to PSNI and other emergency services in the course of their duties and in response to any incident;
· Monitoring and supervising Assembly car parks to control traffic flow of visitors and staff, and ensure their safe use;
· Liaising with Stormont Estate Security staff as necessary, providing assistance with the evacuation of the building in compliance with procedures;
· Ensuring compliance with Usher Services policies and carrying out duties in accordance with Usher Services Standard Operating Procedures;
· Complying with all of the Assembly Commission’s staff policies and procedures including Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and procedures, and undergoing all training requirements;
· Managing information and records in accordance with established policies and statutory requirements;
Carrying out other duties that the Assembly Commission reasonably requires of you.

Essential Criteria:
Applicants must, by the closing date for applications have:
1. At least one years’ experience in each of the areas detailed at (a) – (C) below;
a) Working and communicating effectively, both individually and as part of a team; and
b) Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers including, providing information and assistance as required; and
c) Experience of monitoring and supervising outdoor areas to possibly include traffic flow/car park management.
Plus
You will be required to obtain suitable wet weather clothing (in a dark colour) and suitable footwear for undertaking the duties of the post.
Further Details:
· Hourly Rate based on £26,691 per annum (pro rota)
· Up to 3 months with possibility of extension
