Job overview

We are excited to announce that we have been awarded funding for a practitioner psychologist post, to work alongside our already established post. The additional funding has come about as a result of the value of psychological approaches being recognised within the MDT and the need for additional resource.

This is an 8a post but we also welcome applications from those at band 7 with the opportunity to complete a preceptorship to 8a.

Main duties of the job

The post will be based at Woodlands Acute unit in Hastings, which offers care to adults in need of acute inpatient care across 2 wards. . Within the role there is the opportunity to be involved in family work as well as an innovative project focused on preventing readmission.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as a member of the clinical service/ team, providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training.

To participate in systematic clinical governance and to offer clinical supervision to assistant, trainee and more junior psychologists and other staff. To utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
