A Vacancy at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist or Practitioner Psychologist with relevant physical health training who wishes to work in the fields of Cancer & Palliative Care.

The post-holder will provide a direct service to adults who have complex clinical presentations and will offer a range of psychological interventions including one-to-one, group and family work. The post will also include provision of consultancy, supervision and support to other clinical staff and contributing to the design and evaluation of the specialty. Good liaison with colleagues in other services and agencies (e.g. hospices) is expected.

The post will be based in North East Hertfordshire, but there is scope for hybrid working. This post was established over a decade ago, and the commissioners are currently reviewing the potential permanent development of new level 3 and 4 services in NE Herts and West Essex. You will lead other psychologists and Family Therapists in provision throughout West Herts, North Herts and West Essex, hold budgets, promote service development, and work directly with commissioners.

As part of the wider Clinical Health Psychology Service you will join a supportive team with a strong commitment to supervision, professional support and CPD. Our services have undergone exciting changes, where trauma-informed care and psychological models have been emphasised in our Trust five-year plan and in the new clinical model of service delivery that is central to our service transformation process. EPUT champions innovation, having co-produced models of service delivery with our three ICB commissioners, partner providers and service users. MH Investment Standard funding has seen additional investment in Complex Needs, Eating Disorders, ARMS, Perinatal and Step 4 services.

We also have a number of innovative project developments, including a system-wide Here For You staff support service, Trauma Alliance, Rough Sleepers projects, a phenomenally successful Service User Network, and we lead on a pathway project on establishing and training multi-professional Approved/Responsible Clinicians. EPUT have been successful in becoming the only NHS provider Trust to be approved on the National Framework along with HEIs to provide Clinical Associate in Psychology Apprenticeship training in partnership with the University of Essex, and we employ 96 Clinical Psychology trainees. There is opportunity to teach and supervise placements from UH and UE.
