Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Test Inspection Engineer for our client in the Aberdeen area. This will be a permanent position and will entail a mixture of yard, site and offshore work. If not looking to do offshore work candidates will still be considered,
The client is an expert provider of wire rope products, including marine mooring equipment and anchoring systems. The company offers heavy spooling services, proof testing and inspection facilities, and full rigging shop services.
The main purpose of the role will be responsibility for performing quality control, inspections, testing, and evaluations of products and processes to ensure compliance with established standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
The main duties will include but not be limited to:-
Carrying out any inspections and testing work of manual handling and lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
Service and repair lifting equipment on customer’s sites and in the company workshop as required.
Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly to ensure customer compliance and safety.
Adhering to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety regulations.
Maintaining the company vehicle, completing the relevant daily checks.
Helping to keep all shared areas and workshop clean and tidy.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience
Previous experience of carrying out LOLER and PUWER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment, including (but not limited to); Chains, Slings, Shackles, Manual/Powered Hoists, Lifting Beams + many more.
LEEA Qualifications or time served in relevant industry.
Customer focused with strong communication and relationship building skills.
Proactive with a positive attitude, well organised and punctual.
Attention to detail and ability to identify and solve problems
Ability to use own initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work alone, or as part of a team in a workshop environment or on customer sites.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
IT Literate.
Must have a full UK Driving Licence.
Ongoing training will be given and this will include offshore certification/courses if required. Van available for site work. additional day rate payment for offshore work.
Core week will be 39 hours with regular overtime available. Overtime at time and a half and double time for Saturday Pm and Sundays.
