Job description
As Associate Director CAR-T and Haematology: lead the commercial strategy for all CAR-T and Haematology assets leveraging the Hem-Onc cross functional team to maximize existing assets and successfully roll-out upcoming launches.
Partner closely with Medical Team to develop a robust launch readiness plan and ensure smooth CAR-T adoption.
Explore private and public opportunities to drive CAR-T business growth across UK&Ireland, and develop & execute appropriate business case.
Drive and develop CAR-T & Haematology operational plans to deliver on current and future goals. Partner with cross-portfolio team on medical education and digital strategy to increase awareness and execute brand positioning.
Lead the Haematology cross-functional team to maximize key brand profitability after LOE through ad hoc commercialization strategy and key stakeholder engagement.
Role and Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and delivery of brand related performance updates, strategic and operational plans to the business unit, affiliate and/ or WW leadership teams
Lead efforts to assess and optimize the marketing mix and resource allocation across teams and identify potential synergies and savings.
Develop and optimize opinion leader and key stakeholder engagement and planning efforts in collaboration with respective & related disease brand teams to build trusted and lasting relationships
Accountable for budget and forecast management across the haematology marketing function
Manage advertising agency and other vendors to ensure execution towards business objectives
Creates an environment where communication is expected, supported, clear, candid, transparent and relevant; listens actively and encourages open expression of ideas and opinions.
Operational Leadership:
Depending on brand life cycle, ensure understanding of Situational Analysis, Positioning, Branding, Message & Campaign Development, Strategic Planning & Marketing Mix, and Customer Engagement
Support customer facing teams (sales managers, sales representative and market access) in stakeholder engagement
Lead and manage disease and/ or brand planning for the market to ensure alignment across multiple functions including medical affairs, market access, marketing operations, sales operations, market research, legal, regulatory, and other functions.
Understand key disease and market trends and competitive environment to develop market insights critical to product strategy and communication.
Ensure all marketing materials are delivered to a high quality in a timely fashion in accordance with BMS SOP’s and ABPI code of practice
Support forecasting initiatives by partnering with BI&A, finance and WW
Team Leadership:
Key member of haem/onc commercial leadership team and support cross-BU initiatives
Manage, hire and lead the brand manager team if/when CAR-T & Haematology franchise will expand
Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure the cross-functional team are experts within their respective fields and have the right mindset to be agile and flexible to support the evolving needs of the business
Partner closely with UK & Ireland and WW cross functional teams to inform planning for respective brand strategy
Demonstrate leadership across the wider BMS UK & Ireland organization
Establish and maintain strong working relationship with enabling functions
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Business or science degree – post-graduate qualification preferred
6-10 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience including account management, marketing, commercial and/or medical and excellent professional track record
Requires little direction and is a provider of coaching, guidance and authorisation
Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, influence and execute
Successful track record of product launches
Ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
Strong project and process management skills, along with the ability to work on multiple tasks, and to effectively prioritize
Proven team player with ability to work cross functionally as part of a team
Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills required
Deep knowledge of the NHS, other healthcare environments, and the ABPI and IPHA codes of practice
UK market experience essential
Exceptional customer engagement: sales/sales management experience is preferred
Experience in delivering complex messages to various internal and external customers with a track record of effective and influential presentations
Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and adaptability in a complex, rapidly changing environment
Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, synthesizing diverse perspectives into cohesive, aligned recommendation/deliverables, managing dissension along the way and championing team recommendation with upper management across functional areas
