Job description

Description

Voice Network Engineer

£30 – 35k based on experience + £4k car allowance + additional benefits

Tamworth based (Mostly office based but travelling to various sites across the UK will be required)

The Opportunity for you…

Are you currently a voice engineer and looking to join a company that offers progression? Then this is the job for you. Due to growth, our client is looking for a voice engineer with iPECS experience to expand their team.

As a voice engineer, you’ll be based in the Tamworth office for an MSP who provide voice, mobility, data and application integration to over 1000 users. They provide solutions within the public and private sector for clients such as the NHS, schools, EE, 02, and Birmingham City football club.

This role is for a voice engineer who may have hit a glass ceiling in their current company and wants to progress their career. This company have grown recently through acquisition and organically and this is a new role that has come about due to some new customer contract wins recently, so this is one of a number of positions we have worked on recently with them and its good opportunity to get your foot in the door at an established MSP where you’ll upskill and take your career to the next step.

Day to day, initially, you will be surveying various sites, looking for cabling and hardware upgrades, and once approved, you’ll implement the various solutions. Most of their kit can be supported remotely so you’ll provide support from the Tamworth based office and then in the field when needed (Business expenses are all covered).

They only migrated to iPECS as the platform of choice late 2023 so everything in the solution is pretty new, meaning anything site based would mainly be projects, upgrades to existing system etc.

We’re after an engineer with voice bias but also who can also hold their own with general networking, so routing, switching and firewalls. You’ll need to have a ‘what’s next’ approach by way of figuring out potential issues in a proactive manner to ensure maximum uptime of the various solutions.

Your technical background:

We’re after a voice engineer (iPECS experience is preferred) but we’re open to having conversations with solid engineers from other cloud-based voice solutions around the Midlands area. Your background is likely to have covered surveying + commissioning sites, likewise with fault finding and troubleshooting. You’ll also have had exposure to basic networking fundamentals such as routing, switching and firewalls so the likes of Cisco / Meraki being the main kit of choice.

Normal working week, Monday through Friday with paid overtime outside of hours when required. Benefits include car allowance (circa £4k), 25 days holiday, with an extra day off with every year of service and also your birthday off!

Next steps…

If this sounds like something you would be interested in you have 3 options

We look forward to hearing from you!
