We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Night Veterinary Nurse, specialising in Emergency and Critical Care, to join an A&E department at a 24-hour small animal hospital in Stockport. This part-time position provides an opportunity to contribute to our client's cutting-edge veterinary hospital. With 10 consulting rooms, spacious hospital wards, separate Cat and Dog wards, an on-site Laboratory, X-ray, Ultrasound, and a new CT scanner, their facility ensures top-notch care.
The successful candidate will work effectively in a dynamic environment, delivering meticulous attention to detail in Emergency and Critical Care scenarios. You will be working alongside a supportive and experienced nursing team, many of whom have achieved or are working towards certificates in further studies (emergency and critical care, anaesthesia, surgery, and/or advanced diplomas).
Regular in-house CPD and 'Clinical Club' meetings every 3 months ensure continuous learning. The team's collaborative efforts contributed to achieving and maintaining Hospital Status with the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme.
Successful applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in small animal practice, coupled with a genuine interest in medicine and Emergency and Critical Care (ECC). The role demands quick thinking and dynamism during high-pressure situations.

The Role:
• Part Time Role - 22 hours per week
• Shifts are 9pm - 9am (with 1 hour break) every Sunday and Monday night
• RVN sole charge from 1am - 7.30am; there is a veterinary surgeon on the premises all night and an auxiliary nurse
• Opportunities to pick up other shifts if desired as well as the option to cover annual leave for the other night nurses
