We are seeking talented and enthusiastic Purchasing Experts to join and make an impact in our forward-thinking procurement division in Peterborough.
You will play a pivotal role in revolutionising our procurement and the way BMG interacts with the supplier landscape. Procuring all commodities across all our business areas. You are an integral part of our team and will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our business and contribute to our overall success.
With your strong communication and people skills, you foster collaborative and supportive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. With a natural aptitude for negotiation, you are persuasive, empathetic, flexible, adaptable and an active listener.
You will work in partnership with our internal teams across BMG to understand their purchasing requirements and provide expert guidance on the best procurement practices. As an expert you will source, optimise costs ensuring quality and delivery, create purchase orders and manage any clarifications or disputes. You must therefore have an aptitude for problem solving, with a strategic mind-set when identifying and evaluating suppliers.
You will be expected to work from home and our office location in Peterborough.
What you will do
- Understand purchasing requirements and translate into purchase orders (projected 4,000 + pa)
- Obtain quotes
- Evaluate suppliers
- Expediting goods and services
- Purchase order maintenance
- Provide clarifications and dispute resolution
- Negotiate low to mid value contracts of medium complexity
- Compliance to policies and any regulatory requirements for the geography
- Conduct market research, identify potential suppliers and negotiate favourable contracts and terms
- Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships and implement strategies to enhance vendor partnerships
- Provide information and data to contribute to Management Information
- Implement new efficient processes to the organization (especially shared services)
- Support implementation of new procurement tools into the local procurement organization and be a key user
- Use SAP to generate reporting for own area of responsibility
- Assist implementing Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance criteria to procurement
What you will bring
- Proven track record in purchasing or procurement
- Familiarity with procurement principles, practices and methodologies
- Sourcing
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint
- ERP / SAP4Hana
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Media industry expertise or specific commodity focus
- Bilingual (English + European language)
