Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Grimsby, Lincolnshire?
We are recruiting a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent small animal practice in Grimsby North Lincolnshire. The practice is a small animal first opinion and referral practice which undertakes imaging, neurology internal medicine and surgical referrals
This is a well-established practice with a highly supportive team of experienced Vets and they are looking to recruit either a new graduate veterinary surgeon or who are looking to develop their skill set and clinical knowledge along with their confidence or an experienced Vet who is looking to perhaps focus on an area of interest and study towards a certificate.
Working Hours
The practice understand the importance of a health work / life balance and offer a rota which enables this. They practice is based in North Lincolnshire and the role is offering a four day working week. There is a shared weekend rota on call and the Vet receives the following Wednesday to Monday off. For newly graduated Vets they will work alongside an experienced Vets during any nights and weekends on call so support is always available. There is a generous OOH rota however the work is limited as their nurses do the overnight patient care.
Accommodation is also available with only bills to pay if you are relocating!
About the role:
Whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced Vet there is a supportive team available to help you find your feet. They regularly have social outings together and it is testament to the practice that over half of their current team began their journey as new graduate Vets and have stayed with the practice. Ongoing handholding support and certificates are encouraged and funded whilst working with state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostics.
The practice sees a variety of cases all of which can be discussed daily with a supporting veterinary surgeon and ideas are shared to develop knowledge. There is always someone senior available to discuss more complex cases with so overall the confidence level grows. The large team of 10 Vets rotate between surgery, consultations, and wards so all areas of competence are covered. The Vet will be involved in a mixture of consultations and surgeries.
The practice offer CPD which can be tailored to interests. They offer state of the art facilities so that they can cater for you. There will be support available for new graduates with a GDP advisor and CPD packages can be discussed. There is no strict budget thus allowing plenty of room for development within the first year. There is always clinical support available.
For more experienced Vets looking to develop further and continue study - perhaps towards a certificate then they are able to provide support from certificate holding surgeons in imaging, cardiology and internal medicine. They also have a team of ophthalmologists who are happy to teach and share their skills. The team collectively are always happy to teach and share knowledge and offer advice.
