The Role

The school is looking for a passionate science educator ready to ignite the next generation of scientific minds. This exciting opportunity is perfect for a teacher yearning to take the next step in their career, or an experienced leader who thrives on inspiring both colleagues and students. While formal leadership experience is a bonus, what is important is your ability to guide a team of dedicated science educators and empower the future scientists of tomorrow.

We're seeking a specialist in Biology or Physics who can not only captivate young minds at Key Stage 5 but also possesses the natural charisma and leadership qualities to rally a team of talented teachers and technicians.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

Thrives on collaborative learning and fostering a supportive team environment

Possesses the vision and drive to lead a thriving science department

Can ignite a passion for science in students of all abilities

Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

The Head of Science must subscribe fully to the core values of DBS, and understand how academic study, pastoral care and co-curricular activities contribute equally within it. The Head of Science will be responsible to the Head of Senior School.
